Stereo VCA module designed for ducking effects

The Sidechainer from Flame is a stereo VCA module specifically designed for ducking effects. A trigger signal activates an envelope that attenuates the passed audio — producing the familiar rhythmic pumping effect that has become indispensable in countless productions. Two knobs set the intensity and recovery time of the ducking. With dense pads, drones or other sustained material, the range stretches from subtle breathing to full-on pumping. A CV output taps the envelope independently so you can route it to other modules — for synchronized dynamics elsewhere in your patch.
The front panel is printed on both sides and can be mounted rotated 180°, depending on whether you prefer the jacks at the top or bottom. A focused little module that gives static sounds rhythmic movement or creates targeted space in a dense mix.
