Dual Advanced Clock Parser

The SCS-X is a dual multiplier/divider in 6HP. Each section can multiply and divide a clock source up to 64x. Clock sources include internal clock, Rain Sync bus clock, external clock, or the output of the other section. Pulse output can be set to either purely numerical or musical lengths.

Advanced patterns can be created by setting a frame length and number of active pulses per frame. You can manipulate the active pulses through various parameters, and then set the patterns in motion with a randomness function that varies from frame to frame.

Main Features

• Dual Pattern Generators
  • Can use the internal clock, Rain Sync bus clock, external clock input, or the alternate pattern generator as a source
  • Multiplies or divides the incoming clock by up to 64x, or can create musically useful divisions
  • Each pattern generator has a clock input, a reset input, and a pulse output. The reset input will reset the internal counter
• Flexible Pattern Options
  • Users can define an arbitrary frame size from 1-32 steps, then an active number of steps in that frame
  • Active steps can be adjusted with spread and rotation parameters, then animated with cycle-by-cycle randomness
  • Spread will control how far the steps are spaced apart, from all together (0), to a full Euclidean spacing (10)
  • Rotation will control where the steps are placed in the pattern frame
• Numeric or Musical Multiplication
  • Can multiply or divide up to 64x in numerical mode
  • In musical mode, note durations can vary from 64th note up to double whole note, including dotted notes and triplets
  • Swing can be applied in musical mode as well
• Integrates well with the rest of the Sequencer Construction Set
  • Accepts and provides Rain Sync bus clock
