EM-350 | Four-Channel Stereo Mixer & CV Panner

BENGAL is a four-channel stereo mixing and spatial distribution instrument combining independent level control, voltage-controlled panning, and dedicated master output and monitoring stages. Its architecture integrates active signal summing, dynamic stereo positioning, and high-fidelity output conditioning within a single performance-oriented interface.

Four independent audio channels are equipped with long-throw linear faders for precise level adjustment. Each channel incorporates a dedicated Sound Field Distribution control, providing manual positioning across the stereo field. Independent CV inputs (CV 1–4) extend spatial control to external modulation sources, allowing individual signals to move dynamically between the left and right buses under the influence of LFOs, envelopes, sequencers, or other control voltages.

The active summing architecture combines all four channels into a common stereo bus, with attention to headroom, low-noise operation, and signal separation. This arrangement accommodates both conventional stereo mixing and voltage-controlled spatial modulation, from static placement of individual voices to continuously evolving movement across the stereo image.

A dedicated Master Volume control governs the main stereo output level, while an independent Monitor Phones control drives an integrated high-current headphone amplifier. Separate output and monitoring stages permit adjustment of headphone volume without altering the main stereo mix, providing a practical interface for studio monitoring, live performance, and direct connection to external audio equipment.

The panel organizes level, spatial positioning, and signal routing into distinct functional zones. Primary faders and master controls remain accessible above the patching area, maintaining a clear separation between performance controls and cable connections.
