4-voice granular synth with an integrated convolution reverb
zerua nahasi is a polyphonic granular synthesizer for the eurorack modular format, with a wide range of granulation possibilities. it features 4 stereo granular engines that can be used independently or in combination, opening a whole palette of possibilities. samples can be loaded from an SD card, or recorded via the stereo audio input. each granulation engine can use the same or different samples as sources for granulation. a live mode is also available, where the device works as a granular delay. zerua nahasi aims to work as a granulation laboratory.
furthermore, this device also includes a stereo convolution reverb, with some built-in impulse responses with barcelona's most iconic spaces, and the possibility to load custom IRs from the SD card.
features:
- 4 stereo voices: each voice is an individual, fully-featured granular synth that can hold over 16 seconds of audio.
- 2 grain types: varispeed (reel-to-reel style pitch/speed control) and stretching (Paulstretch style). more to come.
- all granulation parameters (voice volume, grain length, grain density, pitch/speed, xxx multi-functional knob, grain shape, grain position) can be modulated via external CV. volume, pitch/speed and position have independent per-voice CV inputs.
- internal modulation options: per-grain randomness of all granulation parameters, and per-grain quantization of pitch (musical scales) and position (onset/transient detection).
- granulation sources: stereo input audio, or samples from SD card.
- live mode (aka granular delay).
- tonal/noise separation can be performed in stretching grain types.
- 48 presets (can be overwriten). presets can be loaded into only a few voices, so that the other voices keep playing normally (useful for live performances).
- convolution reverb based on our Barcelona Reverbera (free and open-source) project. the 6 impulse responses from Barcelona are built into the module, more IRs can be loaded from the SD card.
