The FX25B is the reincarnation of our original envelope filter. You still get that great automatic wah sound, but we've taken it one step further by adding a blend control making the FX25 equally responsive to both the guitar and bass guitar.Announced at 1998 NAMM, replacing the FX25 Envelope Filter in DOD's lineup. Loosely based on the FX25 (but modified for the new "final series" chassis design), the FX25B's circuit also featured a Blend knob to help make it more suitable for use with bass guitar. The FX25B was retained when production shifted to China with the VFX series.Controls: Blend, Sensitivity, RangeFrom the manual: "The FX25B is an update of the classic auto-wah/envelope filter. The FX25B has an added blend knob so it can be used with either guitar or bass. The FX25B works well for heavily enveloped funky chords or for leads with just a slight vowel quality to them. When you start to use the FX25B you can feel the groove that makes your bootie move."The manual continues by stating "the FX25B should be operated in front of an amplifier, but it can be used in an effects loop as well," and warns "when using the FX25B don't be suprised [sic] if you suddenly have the urge to go out and buy some platform shoes and tight poly-blend slacks."Notable IC chips (1999): one JRC 13600D dual OTA, two JRC 4560D op-ampsCheck out my other listings for more cool vintage, boutique, DOD, Envelope Filter, Wah, and other guitar pedals!
