A loud and destructive Big Muff sound In response to the original Op-Amp Big Muff from the late 1970s being sold at astronomical prices, Mike Matthews decided to reissue it at a price that would make this classic pedal accessible to many players. The circuitry of the new Op-Amp Big Muff faithfully reproduces that of the era also known as the IC or V4 Big Muff, while adding several practical features such as a compact die-cast chassis and true bypass. To produce its signature sound, this pedal uses operational amplifiers instead of transistors as the amplifying elements, and its gain stage consists of three stages rather than the traditional four. Kit Rae, a Big Muff collector and historian, describes the sound as follows: gItfs a very loud, destructive Big Muff sound with more distortion. Itfs perfect for grunge, wall-of-sound-style distortion, and heavy rhythm and lead playing. There are signs of wear, such as scratches and dirt, but there are currently no operational issues. * The product shown in the images, including all accessories, is what is included.
