T-Rex Mudhoney Distortion / Overdrive PedalThe T-Rex Mudhoney is a classic analog distortion pedal known for its huge tonal range, warm character, and distinctive combination of overdrive, distortion, and almost fuzz-like tones. One of T-Rex Engineering’s early signature designs, the Mudhoney has become a favorite among players looking for a dirt pedal with plenty of personality. With the gain set lower, the Mudhoney delivers a gritty, dynamic overdrive that works beautifully for blues, classic rock, and crunchy rhythm tones. Turn up the Gain and it moves into thick, saturated distortion with plenty of sustain and a punchy midrange. At higher settings, it can even approach aggressive, fuzz-like textures. The controls are straightforward and musical, with Gain, Level, and Tone, plus a Boost/Gain Mode switch that takes the pedal from moderate gain into a much more aggressive high-gain range. The Level control also provides plenty of output for pushing the front end of a tube amplifier.Highlights:● Classic T-Rex analog distortion● Wide range from gritty overdrive to heavy distortion and fuzz-like tones● Gain, Level, and Tone controls● Boost/Gain Mode switch for moderate or high-gain operation● Punchy, aggressive midrange character● Excellent sustain at higher gain settings● Great for pushing an already overdriven tube amp● True bypass● Rugged T-Rex construction● Excellent for blues, classic rock, alternative, grunge, and heavier rock tonesThe T-Rex Mudhoney is a great choice for players who want more character and range than a conventional overdrive pedal. It can handle everything from slightly dirty amp-style breakup to thick, aggressive walls of distortion while maintaining a musical and responsive feel.A cool and versatile dirt pedal from one of T-Rex Engineering’s classic designs. The pedal cone by itself without its original packaging.
