Original Russian-made Electro-Harmonix Black Russian Big Muff Pi. This is the small-box version, about 2 inches tall, with chicken-head knobs, INPUT / OUTPUT / SUSTAIN / VOLUME / TONE labels, and the Сделано в России stamp on the front (see photo 1). The jack end is marked "Made in RUSSIA" (photo 3). Not an NYC reissue.

IT WORKS PERFECTLY. It makes sound and every control does its job.

THE FLAW, UPFRONT: the plastic nuts that hold the input and output jacks have broken off. That is the well-known weak point on these Russian Muffs. The jacks themselves still work, but without the nuts they are not held tight to the case. A fix is a pair of metal nuts or new metal jacks and a soldering iron. Photo 3 shows both jacks with the nuts missing. Because of this, it is sold as-is.

Condition: honest used wear. The black paint on the top is scuffed and worn (photo 1). There are Velcro strips on the bottom (photo 2) and a battery compartment on the bottom.

Approximate size: 6.5 in long x 4.75 in wide x 2 in tall.

Includes: the pedal only, as pictured. Ships well packed. Cash sale through Reverb only.
