The Keeley Tone Workstation is a discontinued analog multi-effects pedal designed to serve as the complete front-end for a guitar signal chain, combining compression, boost, and overdrive circuits in a single compact chassis.
Core Features and CircuitsThe pedal integrates four of Keeley’s most popular effects, each with independent switching:
Vintage Compressor: Includes a Blend control to mix wet/dry signals and a Treble Boost switch for clarity. 1962/Katana Section: A dual-mode circuit offering 1962 British Amp-style overdrive (based on a Blues Breaker) or a Katana Clean Boost. Red Dirt Overdrive: A mid-voiced saturation circuit derived from Tube Screamer modifications, featuring Mod+ (high gain) and Baked (lower gain) mode switches.Specifications and Availability
Dimensions: 4.7 inches wide x 3.72 inches tall. Power: Standard 9V negative tip, drawing under 50mA. Price: Originally launched at $299 USD.Status: The pedal is discontinued and no longer available new from major retailers, though used units frequently appear on the secondary market.User FeedbackReviews highlight the pedal’s space-saving design and cost efficiency compared to buying individual units. Users often praise the compressor and Katana boost for their clarity. It is generally recommended for players seeking a versatile "first stage" tone shaper rather than a primary high-gain distortion source.
