Dual Harmonic Oscillator
This analog beast has two harmonic oscillators generating 4 octaves of triangle waves, VCAs on each harmonic, VCA controlled through zero FM, wave folding and innovative internal digital modulations.
The four harmonics of each oscillator are mixed and then used for the TZFM of the other oscillator. The volume of the harmonics is controlled using VCAs. Additionally, the TZFM amount is also controlled by VCAs for even more movement to the sound. The resulting mix of these oscillators is then in turn mixed together and then fed into a 3-stage diode wave folder.
The module also features an extensive internal modulation system based on video game algorithms (Perlin noise). One knob allows you to modulate almost every parameter at once by offsetting each parameter individually using algorithmic smooth noise (similar in shape to smooth Sample and Hold).
Turning the knob will change the parameters in an unpredictable way allowing you to explore new sounds with only one control. The algorithmic noise is not random, turning the knob in one direction will create new results but turning it back allows you to come back.
This noise can also be used to control the frequency of 10 internal LFOs. This allows you to take full advantage of the huge amount of modulation capabilities of the module without needing tons of modulation sources. Of course, modulation inputs with attenuators for each parameter are still available to allow more complex modulation.
The modulation is controllable with CV. You can modulate the entire module with only one CV, which saves you from using tons of external modulations.
Tuning is performed by encoders that control either octave, semitone, coarse and fine tune. These can also be entirely deactivated to avoid unvoluntary detune in a live situation for example.
In the following sound examples, all modulations of the DHO are internal except some envelope modulating the Wavefolder.
