Emergency Signal Router

DEFCON 2 — Emergency Signal Router

The Last Switch You'll Ever Need
When the signal hits critical, you need a router that's built for chaos. The DEFCON 2 Emergency Signal Router is a dual-path analog signal switcher wrapped in an industrial aesthetic that only gets better with age.
Flip the guarded toggle and choose your path.

Signal Architecture
The DEFCON 2 routes your Main Input through one of two fully independent analog signal chains (Path A or Path B) selected by a high-speed CMOS switch for clean, fast, and transparent switching with no audible artifacts.
Each path features a complete Insert, Send and Return loop, giving you the ability to patch in external processing per-path.
Each path also delivers its own dedicated Output jack, so both paths can feed separate destinations simultaneously regardless of switch position. Only the Main Input and Output obey the switch.
Gate outputs on both A and B paths let you trigger or modulate other modules in response to which path is currently active, perfect for syncing envelopes, gates, or anything else in your rack to the switch state.

Flexible Routing Configurations
The DEFCON 2 isn't locked into a single use case. By taking advantage of the individual Insert inputs and dedicated Outs for each path, you can configure the module in three distinct ways:
1-to-1: Single Path, Single Destination
Use the Main Input and the Main Output for a straightforward switchable chain. The switch becomes the selector, and the Send/Return loop gives you an effects send right in the middle of it.
2-to-1: Two Sources, One Destination
Feed two separate signals into Insert In A and Insert In B, bypassing the Main Input entirely. The guarded toggle then becomes a source selector — choose which of your two signals reaches the Main Output. A classic A/B switcher, with individual Send/Return loops.
1-to-2: One Source, Two Destinations
Run your Main Input through and use Out A and Out B as independent switchable outputs feeding two different signal paths or destinations. Use the Send/Return loops to process each path differently before it hits its respective output. Split, process, and send all in one module.

The Switch
The centerpiece of the DEFCON 2 is its large protected toggle switch, housed under a flip-up safety cover. This isn't a menu or a soft button. This is a physical, tactile switch that you must throw with intent.

Built to Age
The DEFCON 2 ships with exposed, unfinished copper on its front panel, a deliberate design choice. Over time, the copper should naturally tarnish and patina, giving your module a lived-in, battle-worn character that is entirely unique to your rack and your environment. No two panels will age the same way. This finish was a premium manufacturing specification, because some things should show their history.

Expandable via Satellite
The rear panel includes a dedicated expansion output jack for use with the DEFCON 2 Satellite module. The DEFCON 2 Satellite stays in sync with the main unit and extends the routing architecture into two additional signal paths for a separate signal turning the DEFCON 2 into a full universe switching system.
