DYN Timo Rozendal Eurorack

stereo transient shaper and dynamics processor

Dyn is a stereo transient shaper and dynamics processor based on the DSP behind Surreal Machines’ Crack plugin. Bipolar Attack and Sustain controls can add punch and body or soften hits and tighten tails. The shaping is level-independent, so quiet and loud sounds receive the same treatment.

Its fixed signal path runs through input Gain, a Gate, transient shaping, a Maximizer, a Limiter, dry/wet Mix, and an always-on output Clipper. The dynamics stages are stereo-linked to help preserve the stereo image. Gate Threshold and Maximize Curve trimmers set the character of those stages.

One 0–5 V CV input can be assigned to Gain, Gate, Attack, Sustain, Maximize, Limit, or Mix, with a bipolar CV Scale control for modulation amount and direction. IN L is normalled to both channels for mono sources.
