EM-105 | Variable Waveshape Oscillator
BAUHAUS (EM-105) is a precision analog oscillator built around a thermally compensated, discrete sawtooth integrator core with matched transistor arrays. It provides calibrated 1V/octave tracking across eight octaves, with three selectable frequency ranges extending from sub-audio modulation to 20 kHz.
Independent analog waveshaping circuits provide continuous transitions between falling sawtooth, triangle, and rising sawtooth waveforms, alongside variable pulse width and a low-distortion sine output derived from a dedicated diode shaping network. Both waveshapers feature independent voltage control.
A precision multi-turn frequency dial provides fine pitch adjustment, with a mechanical lock to maintain the selected setting.
Two distinct synchronization circuits offer different responses to external signals. JFET-based proximity synchronization provides gradual phase locking and subharmonic relationships, while hard cycle synchronization interacts directly with the oscillator's comparator feedback loop, producing complex harmonic transitions and aggressive, phase-dependent timbres.
