Pure Sequencer GMSN! Eurorack

8 Step Digital Sequencer for Melodies and Riffs

The idea behind the GMSN! Pure Modular is to provide people with the basic building blocks of modular synthesis. Each module in the range performs a simple function. This makes it very easy to learn the principles of subtractive synthesis, while providing extremely powerful tools to explore non-traditional forms of music and sound design.

The GMSN! Pure Sequencer is used for creating melodies, hooks and riffs. The 8 sliders set the note to be played, which can be played in turn, randomly or pendulum (forward, then reverse, then forward, etc). Each step also has a gate out, which could be used to trigger drums or notes on specific beats.

The module can be in run mode, or in pause. In pause mode each step can be selected and adjusted. There is also control over the speed, which can also be controlled by an external CV clock, and a slew control.

● Forward, Pendulum or Random
● Pause mode for single step adjust
● Individual trigger out on each step
● Reset CV for less than 8 polyrhythms
● Internal and external rate control
● Glide / Slew for tied notes
● Arduino Compatible Code
● Width: 25HP; Depth: 40mm
● Power: 50mA +12v; 20mA 12v

The module comes as both a Complete Module, or as a DIY kit.

Synth DIY

For people wanting to get their hands dirty with coding eurorack modules, the Pure Sequencer provides the perfect development platform. The module is an Arduino Uno Shield and all coding can be done via the Arduino IDE. For those wanted to take the next step passed shields, the full kit comes with an ATMEGA328, the same chip as the Arduino so again all coding can be done with the IDE, but this time as a proper embedded solution.

The DIY option come in 4 variations:

Complete kit with all components required, including panel
PCB, panel and preflashed IC. You’ll need to provide your own components, except for the ATMEGA IC.
PCB and panel. You’ll need to provide your own components. Full BoM is in the Build Doc (coming soon).
PCB and components, with no panel. You’ll need to provide your own panel.
PCB and preflashed IC. You’ll need to provide your own panel and components, except for the ATMEGA IC.
PCB. You’ll need to provide your own components and panel.
The circuit board is laid out cleanly to make component population and soldering a breeze and the build documentation includes step by step instructions, as well as fault finding hints and tips.
