16x16 Trigger Sequencer
The Robaux SWT16 is a 16-track trigger sequencer with up to 16 steps per pattern.
Programmable like a classic TR machine, the SWT16 can be used not only for triggering drum sounds, but also for envelopes, S&Hs or resetting LFOs.
Each track has its own trigger output. In addition, the triggers are also sent via MIDI notes (requires an adapter).
The SWT16 has a minimalist but intuitive interface. The main operation is via the 4x4 button pad. There you can select, program and mute tracks.
However, there is a mode button that will bring you to different modes.
In this mode, you can mute and unmute your tracks. Each of the 16 buttons represents a trigger track that can be activated or deactivated by pressing.
In this mode, you can select a track that you want to edit. Pressing one of the 16 buttons will enter Pattern Edit mode.
Here you can program your track. Each of the 16 buttons represents one step. Set this by pressing the buttons to make a pattern.
The main goal of the sequencer is to program patterns and mute them. However, there are some features that will help you get the most out of the module. Press the corresponding button to enter one of the following modes:
In Tap mode, you can program your patterns on the fly. Each of the 16 buttons represents a track. Play the keys while the sequencer is running to program your pattern.
In this mode, you can fill the sequencer memory with random patterns. Each button represents a track. Pressing a key replaces the current pattern of the track with a random pattern.
If you want to delete a track, you can easily delete all the steps in your pattern in this mode. Each button represents a track. Press the button to clear the corresponding track.
In this mode, you can set the length of the steps independently for each track. Each button represents a track. Press the track where you want to adjust the length. Then select button 1-16 to set the length between 1 and 16 steps.
In this mode, you can choose to combine two or more consecutive steps into one long gate, or retrigger them at each step. Turn it over to select the retrigger behavior. When lit, it will fire again. If the button is off, the triggers are combined into a gate.
In this mode, you can select the trigger type of a track. Each button represents a track. Toggle it to select trigger behavior. When the button is lit, triggers are fired when the master clock is hot. If the button is unlit, the trigger is inverted.
In this mode, you can select the clock type of the sequencer. The sequencer will fire each time the clock signal is hot when button 1 is lit. If the button 2 lights up it behaves the other way round - the sequencer triggers the steps between two clock signals.
In this Mode you can Reset the Machine to the factory values.
Since the sequencer is based on Arduino, you can easily change the firmware, add or remove features. You can also use the machines completely differently. For example to play minesweeper.
