This is the Plumes Small Signal Shredder, EarthQuaker Devices' take on the classic tube-like overdrive circuit. EQD swapped the usual 4558 chip for JFET op-amps, which run quieter, and turns the 9-volt supply into plus and minus 9 volts inside for more headroom.
The Mode toggle picks the clipping. Mode 1 clips with a pair of LEDs, the crunchiest setting. Mode 2 drops the clipping diodes for a clean boost. Mode 3 uses asymmetrical silicon diodes, more transparent, with a warmer low end and lower output. Tone goes from more bass on the left to more treble on the right. Both jacks and the power jack are on the top end. It takes a 9-volt center-negative supply and draws 25 mA. The footswitch is EQD's Flexi-Switch, true bypass by relay: tap it to latch, or hold it and the effect stays on until you let go. No sound passes without power.
