Gif-playing video synthesizer with datamosh

A gif looper that plays like an instrument. Pitch CV picks the gif, a semitone each. Twenty-six knobs and six CV inputs bend time, data, colour and space, and a real motion-vector datamosh tears the picture apart and lets it heal. Composite out, no screens: the video is the display.

Four lanes and a spine
- MOSH: bends the gif's real compressed data, datamosh (KILL, BLOOM, STEER), glitch, VHS. The FLUSH gate heals the mosh.
- TIME: CLIP picks the gif; loop start and length, four play modes, speed from stopped to 4×, frame scrub, trails.
- COLOR: global palettes mapped by brightness, palette cycling, hue, glow, posterize, dither, solarize.
- SPACE: video feedback, melt, warp, pixelate, mirror, kaleidoscope, spin. The HOLD gate freezes the picture.
- Spine: GIF (1V/oct picks the gif), FRAME (restarts the loop, or steps one frame at speed zero), VIDEO out.

I/O
- 6 CV inputs (±5 V, each adds to the knob above it), 1V/oct, 3 gates (FRAME, FLUSH, HOLD)
- Composite video out on RCA, PAL or NTSC
- Gifs from a USB stick, every folder a bank

Inside: a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W running a LÖVE + GLSL engine, reading 40 channels of 12-bit CV.

In development: designed and routed, not yet available. See its own shaders running in your browser:
